Hundreds of thousands of Slovaks left their homeland between the late 19th and early 20th centuries. They crossed the Atlantic, built new lives, and created communities that stretched far beyond the borders of Slovakia. Their journeys shaped not only the communities they built abroad, but also the homeland they left behind.
Yet despite the enormous impact of emigration on Slovak history, this story is still rarely taught in schools and often absent from library collections.
For many years, Global Slovakia has worked to uncover, preserve, and share the story of Slovak migration around the world.
Now, you can help us take the next step.
By sponsoring Slovak-language copies of our books and donating them to schools and libraries across Slovakia, you can help inspire Slovaks to learn about one of the defining chapters in the nation's history.
Why This Matters

Unfortunately, many schools and public libraries do not have the resources to purchase materials on the subject.
