Slovak Ritual Cloth

Special pieces of cloth marked important events of one's life and adorned homes and churches during holidays.  Hand-sewn and embroidered, various types of ritual cloth were once believed to be special, even magical. Ornate or simple, these veils, shrouds, baby wraps, blankets, and sheets were designed to be used on particular occasions and with a clear purpose. They speak of the inner rich life of our predecessors and of their impressive skills!
